I stayed here a few years ago and thought I knew what to expect especially since it looks the same from the outside. Surprisingly, the room had been remodeled and was nicer than in the past. It was also cleaner. The lighting was improved. (The ceilings and walls are wood color so can be dark.) I needed a low-cost hotel, that was clean, to fit my budget for my week-long stay and was pleasantly surprised.

Location is great, the heater in the room was very quiet and warmed the room fast, owner (?) responded quickly to complain regarding construction work downstairs and stopped it.

A young family runs both Pinewood Inn and the Hacienda Inn next door. If you want the swimming pool, in-room spa bath, or family suite with kitchenette, the Hacienda has those. Most rooms at Pinewood Inn are currently being renovated. My room seemed to have all new furniture and was very clean and quiet. It had a mini refrigerator and microwave. I especially liked the table and chair which gave me space to finish a project. The bedside lamp was very nice too, easy to reach from the bed with two light settings. Everything worked in the bathroom.
